My Purchase of the week has to be the Rocky Box set only £20 in Zavvi and includes all 6 Rocky films!
I went in to Zavvi looking to see if they had the Rocky Balboa film in as I haven’t seen that since it was in the cinema and I wanted to educate my girlfriend to the Rocky films.

I found Rocky Balboa for about £7 which I thought was a bargain, I had already seen the box set earlier this week for £35 in HMV so I took a look to see how much that came to. Well at £20 for all the films I had to get them then and there, much to my girlfirends… erm delight.

I got in a crate of beers and got the lady some wine and we sat down to watch the films, my mrs had never seen any of the Rocky films but after a few complaints we settled down to watch the first Rocky film. I’ve been a Rocky fan all my life and used to wear out VHS tapes watching them over and over again as a kid although the film is slightly dated watching Sly Stallone come good from being the underdog is still a great watch. And even my skeptical girlfriend soon livened up to the 80’s classic and after the film was over was ready to go through the whole box set.

This was a shock as my girlfriend complains when I watch UFC and even when the big names like David Haye and Ricky Hatton are fighting I get disapproving loks when the lads come round or I announce I’ve got tickets. I guess the Rocky films have a little something for everyone, but I crease up at the training montage in all the films.
